Michael O'Brien deserves our utmost respect for still being alive, let alone having the strength and dedication to continue to fight the Catholic Church for proper compensation.
Field Marshal etc, Cowen is a big boy now and don't you think it's a bit pathetic that you feel the need to defend him in the face of criticism by an elderly, non-PR polished, abuse survivor? If Cowen can't deal with this issue correctly or meet with the survivors without annoying them, he is quite obviously in over his head.

He got money from the church and money from the army. Who is next for this honourable man? The abuse is all about money. MOB is a professional victim. Deep down, I bet a lot of people find him to be an extremely distasteful individual.

His LLS performance was a joke.

The charade over the last few years was all about money. They wanted lots of money and they hit the jackpot. MOB is the epitome of this affair, having secured his first win by claiming army deafness. Then he hit the mother lode. I guess he wants national recognition now for his services to Ireland.

    The man is a chancer.

You see, that is the problem. There have been very few cases brought to justice. Just a commission on its own gravy train with lawyers and victims all with their faces in the trough gorging the states money.

I find professional victims a distasteful bunch. They want excuses for failed lives, alcoholism, broken homes, unemployment and all manner of ills. Only don't blame them.

    +1.

I've been around a while and that was the most powerful few minutes of television I've ever seen.

Michael O'Brien and the rest of the "professional victims" are getting on my wick.

Would he ever shut up and be contented with his 15 minutes of fame? Does he think there's a bottomless pit full of gold somewhere?

Who would want green "one of the mob" ratings? Red and proud!

Its shameful the way FF handled this. That particular footage of Michael o' Brien on Questions & Chancers were truly sad and shameful. They way that Noel Dempsey spoke and his views on the matter really showed how he and his fellow cabinet and senior Fianna fail politicans are so out of touch with the people. pure contempt for abuse victims, shameful.

Sorry, but who was it that first apologised on behalf of the state and set up the redress tribunal?

Your own bias does not a case make.
