The Labour Party is a "betrayal to it's principles and objectives"(Pat Rabbitte)

Why not merge Defence and Justice----Dermot Ahern could do both jobs effectively.

Defence Forces - Organisation

Ireland is a democracy and in any democracy you need the military under the control of the elected civilian government. That is why we need a Minister for Defence at the Cabinet table.
Christ, the level of stupidity on this site is staggering. Does anyone check their facts before they post?
Ireland also has a Government that is meant to Govern, not get tasty little dig outs () and get suitcases full of sterling to buy a house (
)
It also appoints friends to senior positions on Boards solely because they are friends of TDs and not because of any other qualification.
And what the hell has that to do with having a Minister of Defence? When Enda puts together the next Govt he'll still have to appoint a Minister of Defence - which will still has ******************** all to do with your guff.
As I said, the stupidity on this site gets worse. Do you even think before you thump the keyboard or is it just the first idiot thought that comes to mind that ends up here?
