To carry on the PIGS theme did Mary Coughlan tell porky pies about what the report on Higher Remumerationhad to say about the pay of higher public servants? My understanding of the report was that the Review Body recommended that they take the full cut and they said this in the knowledge that the 10% bonus was already done away with.

I have seen an RTÉ correspondent giving the President of America a hard interview.

You should listen to the World Tonight (every weekday evening at 22:00 on Radio 4) and you will hear BBC correspondents asking tricky questions to politicians from all over the world every second day. The same, to a lesser extent, goes for BBC World Service. The BBC provides a critical, global, news service - they're one of the biggest in the world. RTÉ don't even provide a local one.
