It's quite clear to me what he means, and when repeatedly challenged on it he himself did not reach for the reasoning you adopt.

Anyway, back to my question above. Have these people who are telling others what to do done anything themselves? Easons in Dublin and Cork is pretty accessible to everyone.
Why do mention Easons? Do you get your information from books? You see, they sell silly books like "De Buke" and other nonsensical stuff where you really learn nothing but Easons are pleased with your businness...

The object of this thread is how best to riducle FFers. Whilst not condoning the ridicule I have to say that FF is a shabby organisation of sleaze and malpractice, the proof of which is the state of the country. We frittered away billions on all sorts of stuff like FAS when there was full employmnet, Hairdos for Harney, Junkets for incimpetent ministers and a collapsed economy with thousands of vacant and partially built housing.

Soory but only fools could be responsible for the mess and those who support the perpetrators are inviting scorn on themselves. Let's get back on topc now and give out some answers to questions posed!
Politicians do not stand for anything beyond whatever they think will get them elected.

For the damage FF have done to the country, on a purely personal level I wouldn't be all that bothered if what SamVimesBoots proposes came to pass.

But, as we live in a democracy, I would be in favour favour a legally binding ban (done within the framework of a democratic country) on former FF members holding any positions of power in the future. You cannot be trusted to serve the public good, so you need to be excluded by any means necessary from important posts in law, policing and public service.

Look at Russia. Former communists (Putin etc.) have essentially kept their grip on power, and placed a lot of restrictions on media and free speech, If those guys had been restricted, then the country wouldn't have been pedalling backwards since the late '90's.

truth such a strange concept to irish politics just ask any taoiseach since the states inception
If you look at my posts here through your apparently incandescent rages you will find I have been brutally honest at times in my views.

It's a bit like a Klansman in Mississippi saying he is going to stay in the Ku Klux Klan, because he feels he might be able to get the rest of the rednecks to love blacks.
I think even for you katy, comparing Fianna Fail to the KKK is a bit extreme

Yes we do live in a democracy.

A democracy that, for all the rage expressed here, elected FF to power in election after election.

Those who would seek to deny democracy and who would ban or imprison those with different opinions are to my mind proposing something that's a lot more dangerous than some Minister with a penchant for the Ritz.

At least this thread is a lot of hot air, and if it gives those who would seek to deny democracy an opportunity to vent their feelings in a completely harmless way and to share fantasies about Nazi methods, well it serves a purpose I guess.

NewGoldDream, you talk about the good in FF changing the direction of the party and taking the power away from the Gombeens.

What are your plans to move this ahead?

    Sound familiar?

Of course it does! It's Ireland under Fianna Fail - The Soldiers of Bankruptcy.

Well, the Nazi's won elections too, which isn't an excuse for what happened during their time in power. Saying FF aren't responsible for mismanagement or corruption on the basis that they were elected by the people is plain wrong.

To summarise, anyone supporting Fianna Fáil is either a direct beneficiary of FF patronage (in short corrupt), or a drooling inbred moron incapable of joining the dots to see the damage their incompetence and corruption has caused to the country.

True true. Any good son of Dixie would be outraged at such a comparison.
