John Gormley - FF's lost leader

It is pretty clear that the handover from Debert to Clowen has not worked. IMO, had events run their normal course, Gormley would now be leader of FF and Taoiseach

It was my fate to study G at close quarters for some years. His notion of greenness was essentially "The body shop" and the odd bike ride. The rest of his lifestyle was pure Joe Soap; fossil fuel cars, sun holidays, and fierce upward mobility (to be precise, westward, to Ballsbridge) after the kids started picking up Ringsend accents.

As Debert's successor, G's vacuity would have echoed Debert's; his sociopathic lack of concern for moral issues likewise; and, finally, his penchant for turning pressing moral issues into purely political ones, to be solved by application of focus groups and spin, would have ensured business as usual after 2008.

Instead, G has - with some help - in 2 years destroyed a party built up over 25 years with idealism, hard slog and the odd streak of brilliance. Given what FF is in essence-a set of scams with various degrees of sophistication and the Irish taxpayer as their mark - he would have done no damage in his true home.

Since when has he ever lived in Ballsbridge?

More personalised smearing from erigena, the lost conscience of the Green Party.

I'm sure erigena - whoever he is - would be delighted with the accolade, and with the acknowledgment that the (Gom) greens have indeed lost their conscience. Took you long enough.

Gormley's concerns about his children' accents and his desire to move them away from Ringsend were articulated several times among the DSE group

Can you cite one bit of truly Green activism that Gormley ever brought to a conclusion (as distinct from sold out in an act of criminal conspiracy with his FF buddies)?

The list of sellouts (Tara Shell colocation etc) is now legendary; however, the destruction of the Irish music industry through allowing dissolved companies trade abroad has now reached the US federal courts. It will be interesting to see how they view the idea of dissolved Irish companies trading away illegally in their borders. Arrest warrants are not out of the question.

In fact, what the current talks should do is merge Fianna Fail and Fianna Glas, make Gormless Taoiseach, get Clowen to replace Cough-up as Tanaiste, and quit the charade

You're not seriously going to claim that you're not erigena, are you? I didn't actually know you were making an effort to create a new identity, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned erigena, for fear of another spurious accusation of "outing".

    Ah, hearsay. How convincing.

It is indeed hard for the strong to be just to the weak, but acting justly always has its rewards.

John "The Stroke" Gormley would fit right in in FF. But I think he will want to take over from Parlon at the CIF.

Just reading your other post on the Green forum I think you have allowed your own grievances - which may be well grounded - to embitter your criticism. Vicious personal attacks are completely out of order. You are quite entitled to criticise him politically but not to make malicious, unpolitical attacks.

Gormley is not made of leadership stuff! He acquired the position from another witterer who also was not made of leadership stuff. Sargent is the three card trick mand and was crafty enough to foo the green (pun intended0 party and get his arse on a junior ministry. He now tends vegetables (as does Cowen) and does the odd home TV interview with the son's video camera.

To think these eejits hold the balance of power.

Wait for the convention vote and you will get confirmation of what these numbskulls stand for!
The logic-free zone that is Irish politics.
