Why would they want rid of her, if she is willing to go out and bat for the government and push their policy

When they came in they were at pains to point out to Brussels that they were different to the last crowd; fresh faced and more serious. Leaving the woman whose appointment they criticised at the time looks like a subtle nod to Brussels that they're no different to the last crowd. . .and maybe that's the point.

Now I know what what Alan Crosbie means by "setting the news agenda". How would we know how much she welcomed the debate without someone who knows how to set the "news agenda".

Less I would think!! Another RTE breaking story that does support RTEs 'objective' coverage! No agenda there at all. Are you watching AP and HRH?

Well, I am shocked. This is big news...

A member of the European Commission has said she supports the new fiscal treaty.

Well, if the Commission support it, we all should!
    The blitz begins.

The notion that she supports a treaty which involved the EU Commission is not even news. It would be the same as saying the government supports the treaty. A complete non-event.
