Polish Finance Minister Tells It Like It Is

Poland's finance minister has said it would be "absurd" for any country to have confidence in the euro given the current economic environment."

Well said, Mr Rostowski. The only thing I don't understand is why so many non-eurozone countries are signing up to the Fiscal Compact Treaty.

Why put on the straitjacket if you're not already in the asylum?

Perhaps - having won their liberty within living memory - they're more inclined to question why they should surrender hard won freedoms.

So why are Poland joining the pact?
I'm 16. I despise every current Irish party, except the SDLP and the Alliance(I support neither). Economic Left/Right:-5.12 - Social Libertarian/Authoritarian:-0.36

Yes that and perhaps he is one of those mythical creatures... a finance minister that knows something about finance and economics!

    God. Alone. Knows.

It confers no advantages for non-eurozone members and imposes significant constraints.
