Turkish EU Negotiator to address the Forum on Europe

Finally I got to speak one to one with Mr Ali Barbacan though I had to move fast as the Conference ended to do so.

Just before he finished I moved as near as I could get to the top table and then I walked right up to where he was sitting. I told him I was an Irish citizen and the public had been invited to attend so I would like to make a point to him.

I explained to him that the Irish people were conned over the last EU Expansion and that the Irish would end up a minority if Immigration continued the way it was going. By that time Security was moving in so I had to be quick.

I handed him a List of Quotes from our Politicians from before the last expansion and the rubbish that they predicted about the numbers who would come here. I told him to read it in his Hotel room tonight - (I hope he does) and that fears on Immigration would keep Turkey out of the EU. I finished by saying to him that Turkey was welcome if that issue is sorted out.

I think by that stage some spoilsports were moving and gently pushing me back but I at least I made my point with the Turkish Minister anyway!

I gave the List to Maurice Hayes and to Patricia McKenna as well but didn’t get the chance to distribute anymore.

Notice how the main reason blocking Turkey's acceptence by the people of western Europe (Mass Immigration) doesn't get a mention!

IMO the whole exercise was a case of the Elite talking to the Elite. The fact that even though the public were welcome no one was allowed to put a question or make a point outside of the chosen few speaks volumes...
