Fastest growing economy in Europe with the fastest growing population and loads of northerners coming over the border to buy petrol.

Let's pay any fines and move on.

    Why not?

It's the same as buying carbon credits. Or do you recommend we raise the price of petrol so we all head north to buy our petrol so the figures tally for our EU friends?

    How is that helping?

Yeah, the correct attitude would be to throw out the current lassiez faire government and elect one that can plan effectively to reduce our carbon levels.

We were given an allowance to exceed our 1990 carbon emissions by 13% under the European Emission Trading scheme, while the other countries of Europe take up the slack. Yet we are now at 23% over 1990 levels. We haven't done a tap to reduce this, it's time to get serious

Yeah but thanks to fine Gaels insitance on sleeping with Labour trash that can't happen the best coalition for this country would be a Fine Gael, PD and Green one. Labour will only happen to reduce emissions cause they would cause an economic downturn.

How much will we have to pay and is it cancelled out by the tax revenues we receive from cross border fuel purchases?
