interesting piece by the Beeb here : http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8223239.stm ln the meantime, Khameni , whose leadership is questioned by ex-iranian MPs has stated that 'there was no foreign element to the recent post-electoral *unrest* '. (l do love euphemisms)

Reiss was released on bail to the French Embassy 12th August. Iran is reported to have offered a prisoner swap, but so far the French don't seem interested. The Ambassador didn't bother to visit her when she was in jail and an offer that she should stay in the Embassy during her trial wasnt taken up.
France 24 | France will not accept Clotilde Reiss prisoner swap | France 24
Meanwhile the US and UK are continuing to talk war.
she is looking like a hostage now from what Cactusflower published above ^ : l would not be jumping to conclusions of disinterest CF unless logic is applied. i) Who do they want out of French prisons ? ii) Her trial was a farce thus they are indulging in speculation on the basis of what they 'have'. All the fake government have is the upper hand in post-electoral propaganda really.
Ms Reiss has appeared in court this week : Frenchwoman charged with provoking unrest appears in court | France 24
I shall add in her support facebook (and add that this thread which has been *trolled* to death
be used to discuss the issues surrounding post-electoral arrests and not as an attack thread)

Sarko responded to Ahmadinejad's comments on Ms Reiss at Copenhagen. its almost like the public humiliation of a show trial and the attendant media-fodder generated in the wake of *that* election result has become a formal negotiation : http://mobile.france24.com/en/200912...ys-ahmadinejad
some of the links in the OP are timed out , so bumping the Beeb one. The name of Hossein Rassam has not been mentioned since the post-electoral
round of show trials : http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8191858.stm
