To be fair this is the preserve of some on the far right. Very few people think Islam will take over Europe any time soon. What we must watch for is the increased ghettoisation of Muslims and any increase in Islam extremism. On both scores many of Europe's politicians have been asleep at the wheel.

Do you? Then you are not listening. Can you tell me when the Dail Mail advocated the death penalty for homosexuality or advocated stoning or called Jews the sons of apes and pigs? I am no fan but to suggest they are worse than Islamic extremist when it comes to threatening our society is PC gone wild.

As a homosexual he has good reason to be suspicious of Muslims. I'd be wary if I was homosexual.

all depends on what right wing parties you re refering to

Are you refering to the real far right ?

    Like Jobbik/le pen/bnp

Iv seen and read this report on the bnp

    http://www.douglasmurray.co.uk/TheBN...istNetwork.pdf

yes id see them as a threat too

and hope they never take power

But if you re refering to the Right of Geert Wilders

I am saying that the threat posed to the kind of liberal values espoused by the poster above are more likely to be compromised by right-wing and far-right parties in Europe than by a speculative Muslim majority who will take over at some point in the future.

Get yourself onto Stormfront and see what some our own whacky brigade would like to do to to gay people, left-wingers and, obviously, black and brown people of any shade.

    Thanks for that helpful clarification.
I can't prove that Elvis isn't going to land in a UFO on the middle of O'Connell Street tommorrow morning and sing a duet with Marilyn Monroe on the roof of the GPO with Michael Jackson as a background dancer. But anyone who came on here claiming it might happen would probably have their mental health called into question, and rightly so.
Just because we can't make exact predictions it doesn't mean we can't with some certainty that there is no reason to believe that a group who currently make up 5-6% of the population will come anywhere close to being a majority at any point in the forseeable future.
Or is there any reason to believe this is likely?
If not, we can put this silly "Eurabia" debate to bed once and for all.

For the benefit of those who missed the Garibaldy's post on the BBC website here it is again:

BBC NEWS | UK | Magazine | Debunking a YouTube hit

In the original You Tube film it purported that:

In the Netherlands, according to the video, half of all newborns are Muslim, and in 15 years half the population will be Muslim.
    Whereas the actual truth is:

Dutch office of statistics estimates that Muslims make up only 5% of the population. For Dutch Muslim women to produce half the nation's babies, they would have to be giving birth at at least 14 times the rate of their non-Muslim neighbours.
    And in France:

It is the claims made about individual countries that are most striking. The video says that a typical French family has 1.8 children but that French Muslim families have 8.1 children
    Patent nonsense.

    In Belgium:

Is 25% of the Belgian population Muslim, as the video asserts? No. The Belgian office of statistics points to a 2008 study which suggests the real figure is just 6%.
It quotes the German vice-president of the federal statistics office as saying:

The fall in German population can no longer be stopped. Its downward spiral is no longer reversible. It will be a Muslim state by the year 2050
When the last part of the statement in italics is a complete fabrication.

The original YouTube video is here:

Anyone pandering to this kind of lunacy needs to explain their rationale.
