The rest of us, however, will continue on until our almost inevitable defeat, in the faint hope...
Coir and the CSP stand ready to lead from the front for the No campaign. . .
Harry McGee in that piece says I was political director and that I ran the Brussels office, neither are true. I was 'Head of Online' and that's it.
I spoke to Harry McGee today, and even discussed with him how my background had always been in the online arena.
I was campaign director for Lisbon, but my role focussed on the net from afterwards until lately.

To be fair, small movements not massively funded have had a fairly striking effect during Nice I. Libertas had more than a touch of megalomania about it.
Whatever bout Libertas Red Rose Lisbon MkII goes on ... and there are plenty of folk who are anti Lisbon as they were from the beginning still on this Isle
I am one ... never been a Libertas supporter but was and am still and will be always 100% anti Lisbon
Whatever about Libertas a Referendum will ensue in approx 4-5 months time ... different stage same scenario
Eamon Gilmore made a statement VERY shortly after the last Referendum while playing hide in the long grass tactics ..we all know what that is/was .... discredited going forward springs to mind
So bring it on in Nov or whatever
Media/Polls are one thing
Actual day after Voting when results become clear is another
No to Lisbon being a conglomoration of far left and far right Nutters as some would portray is sh_ite too ... I subscribe to neither
There are also PLENTY of folk in this Country who make up the majority of the Electorate who couldn't give a FUP about Politics or Europe ... and their Votes are the ones who will either sink the good ship Lisbon or allow it to make port
This is far from a done deal on the Yes side .... I hope those of such ilk are taking note, because;
1. There are still a lot of ppl in this Country who will be voting No for whatever reasons;
2. There are ppl voting No who in addition will be working towards promoting the No vote
So laugh at the demise of Libertas (and again I stress I am not Libertas inclined) but do not laugh at the No vote for Lisbon MKII .... yet
so your denying personal (political) and professional political support for libertas dave?
What does the Irish President spend their time doing. Work in progress

Whatever we think about Ganley, losing an election that badly will have been devastating for his staff. Losing any election hurts. In addition they did not just lose an election but their jobs. So it will be tough on them.
Libertas is almost certainly gone. Its election results were for it what 2007 was for the PDs. It may limp on for a while (The PDs still technically exist and will for a few more weeks) but it is hard to see how any movement, much less one so new, can come back after that result.
There is no point guys in crowing about it. It will hurt for Libertas staff so they should be allowed to adjust to what has happened. The PDs decided to keep in existence without any real hope of survival to give supporters a chance to realise how hopeless their position was. Libertas may face a similar phenomenon.
I'm saying I wasn't political director, and that I didn't run the Brussels office.
It's tough enough finding a job at the moment without the newspaper of record getting your job title and responsibility wrong.
