    He's referring to Joe Higgins.

It's a pity Sinn Fein and Joe will be on the wrong side this time.

Yes, the fear factor should swing it this time, espechally since every time Joe and McKenna and Mary Lou talk about workers rights and militarism the govt and media will keep talking about the gaurentees on abortion and tax, which were never threatened to begin with.

Professionally damaged? I think it's easy for people who are anti-Libertas to allege that, and I think it's easy for people who are pro-Libertas to claim the opposite, but in this day and age, 'easy' just isn't 'easy'. It ultimately comes down to whether I can demonstrate that in the specific jobs I did, whether or not I did them well.

I was campaign director for Lisbon 1, the campaign may not have convinced over 50% to vote No. but it's well written that enough people were brought over to the No side. I was on the winning side in Lisbon 1, regardless of the jersey, I was on the winning side of the pitch (you can probably tell by my piss-poor analogies I'm not a sportsman).

Recently, I was the Head of Online, I ran a great website which got some great write ups by even unfriendly press. So am I professionally damaged? In both cases I did a job I was paid to do, and did both well (at least in my opinion).

By the way, I did indeed register voteyes.ie - which I unashamedly admit was done as a spoiler, again, my background is digital, and you don't get a domain like politics.ie without knowing how domain registratation works, I've advised hundreds of individuals and organisations on digital branding strategy, including getting the best domain names. Someone got to voteno.ie before me mind.

Lisbon 2 will be won not on being luvvey dovey about Europe (one group had Margot Wallstrom in Dublin on Friday, yet got almost no coverage for it - that doesn't bode well for their campaign in the next few months if they can't get coverage for that), not by saying "we're pro-European thus we're pro-Lisbon" it didn't work then, and it won't work next time - and not some kind of Mars Attacks "why can't we all just get along".

The Yes side's best arguments will be "Keep our commissioner" and "Keep Ireland strong in Europe" - (both are (C) David Cochrane 2008 - both taglines I ensured were on Libertas' election posters during Lisbon 1) - and coupled with resisting the no side casting doubt over whether the guarantees are rock solid. The no side will say the people are voting on the same treaty, the yes side will say they are not. I've spoken to people on both sides of Lisbon 2, and the ground is being laid for a war on whether or not the people can trust the guarantees being offered. Whoever wins that argument will win over the electorate. Simple as.

I really think he should resign to the corner until closer to the date myself. Otherwise he'll just end up attending kitchen press conferences.
