SNP Pushes for the Dissolution of the UK

I have no link but I have been told by someone I trust, (he is campaigning strongly for FF to stand in the occupied territories), that the SNP are putting forward a motion for the breakup of the Uk. They do not have much chance of this but if they keep irritating and pushing they may annoy the English enough for them to pull out

As many polls have stated , the Scottish want out.

Give them a referendum, then you'll see what their chances are.

Although I'm sure it would 'irritate' a lot of Brit lovers in Ireland.

That seems to be the strategy, let the English be the ones to get fir of Scotland. They are the ones in charge, so it will in reality come down to that. This is why I would like to see a conservative govt. the Scotch and the Welsh really hate them and with the labout party being finished off hopefully the nationalists will be the ones to gain.

    Hey Arty

Did your source indicate that the SNP are actually pushing for a referendum to abolish the Act of Union???

If so, I thought it was SNP strategy to wait longer. Furthermore, having a Scot as PM might deminish the pro independence vote. If Cameron the English public school boy was PM that might change!

I'd be delighted to welcome Scotland into the brotherhood of nations. I'm sure millions of Irish would be. Don't know how their economy would function independently of Whitehall injections of moolah.

I think with all the Oil revenues over the years Scotland was actually a net contributor to the UK exchequer!

The Conservatives finished first in Wales. Also I wouldn't get carried away with the SNP success, much of their vote would have been a protest vote to punish Labour over general incompetence and expenses scandals.

Yeah the scots are like Quebec, they want more power back but they will never vote to leave to the UK.
