A message to the media: drop Ganley and Libertas

Now with Mr Ganley and his party Libertas unlikely to win none but one seat, the media must act upon their responsibility and stop giving Ganley attention. It is unwarranted, he does not command the mandate of the people nor does he hold the legitmacy to speak in their name.

The govt, the media and sundry accredited him with as the role of bringing down Lisbon, this is untrue, many people voted No regardless of Libertas's position. The media and certain govt ministers did a great misjustice by hyping Ganley to be something he was not. He did not win the No vote.

He must not be allowed(by the media) to continue to dominant public debate on european affairs. The media owe it to the people who have finally spoken and given the message......WE DON'T WANT GANLEY.

So I ask the media to stop giving him attention and realise his publicity stunts are for his own advantage. Stop giving in to him.

That Ganley dude must be something else. He got twice as many votes as as all those Green Party dingbats put together.

Obviously Euroboy hasn't the faintest clue about how the media work and has never heard of newsworthiness criteria. As long as anyone - including Mr. Ganley - do or say newsworthy things, they will be reported on.

If reading about Ganley and his associates is such a drag, I recommend greater selectivity in the choice of media one consults.

To the best of my knowledge, neither the Dandy nor the Beano have mentioned Ganley even once.

Yes that is very true. However, the green party didnt have the same slick publicty machine as Ganley nor did the Green party have the media holding onto every word they said.

The media have played a large role in getting Ganley those votes. They have brought into his whole PR machine.

A good media should have understood that, but the media didnt.

I'm calling on them now to realise they have to take responsibily for building him up and bringing him down.

you must be using the royal plural when saying "we" dont want Ganley.
I am not a Libertas supporter but he clearly represents a certain constituency.
It is healthy for a democracy for all points of view to be heard.
All the main parties refuse to accept that the anti vote was inflated because of peoples disgust with corruption amongst all 3 parties, yes all 3 of them.

Ireland must be a strange place when ministers don't get media attention, especially dingbats like Gormley that gave 50 million euros to the Poles. Over here he would be on the Comedy Channel

If Ganley loses, then the main focus of the media on the next 'No' campaign will be around Joe Higgins who despises Ganley.
