Socialism is suffering in Europe

All over Europe the socialists are getting an 4rse kicking - Holland sees Wilders getting 4 seats (wonder if he will push ahead with the attempt to ban the koran)
"You Popish rogue" 'ní leomhaid a labhairt sinn
acht "Cromwellian dog" is focal faire againn
nó "cia súd thall" go eann gan eagla
"Mise Tadhg" géadh teinn an t-agallamh

Bodaigh an Cháise táid go hatuireach
ag filleadh ar a gcéird gach spéice smeartha aca
gan ghunna, gan chloidheamh gan pinnse chleachtadar
d'imthigh a mbrígh is tá an cridhe dá ghreada aca.

Your title is misleading. Socialism is not suffering. In fact it's on the increase in most western european countries. Just look at Greece and France (and Dublin). However the "Socialist" parties you refer to are actually right wing reformist parties like New Labour in Britain and the SPD in Germany. Rather than judge a party on its name you should judge it on it's actions.

How boring, atleats I hoped for some more anti-eu seats,
That would make things more interesting, but this just boring.
Still, even as the investor consensus ravages the euro, it's worth remembering that the same herd instinct not long ago was pronouncing last rites for the dollar. Last year, as China's central bank chief called for a new global currency and Russian central bankers dumped greenbacks to buy euros, many saw the dollar's decline as inevitable. Now, the dollar is riding high, and the euro looks bedraggled.
