Sigh. I suppose the charitable way to see this is that managing 5 kids takes considerable logistical skill and negotiating skills which may come in handy in the political arena as well.

But on mature reflection, she's after the right wing fundy vote

Still, maybe politics is the ONLY arena of potential employment where admitting to having a rake of sproglets isn't a serious disadvantage.

If Caroline Simons has 5 children, she clearly loves having sex.

Do YOU like having sex too?

If you do, then you share Caroline Simons values.

We need more public representatives who love sex, like you do.

    Vote Caroline Simons.

A FF candidate in Phibsboro has a poster with the slogan "FOR A NEW BEGINNING" written across it---is there some subtle message there or is he having us on?

I'm not a regular here but I would like to say that I think Libertas's campaign seems to be very incindiary. Caroline Simons posters where she refers to some unknown body as "that shower" is ridiculous and bluntly rude.

I don't think that the Irish people would like that attitude to represent us in Europe. Her campaign also states something like, 'It's your future, take it back!'.

    From whom?

The anti-lisbon victory against the more established parties, in my view, had more to do with the major parties not doing enough to promote it, which left it open to broad, unspecific criticisms which amounted to scare mongering by libertas.

Libertas don't seem to stand for anything excet raising awareness over the amount spent of coffee machines by the EU. I have heard Mrs. Simmons speak on tv, and she came across as very confrontational, and through the whole debate did not make a single significant contribution.

In my opinion they are trying to push a contrived innacurate view of european politics, and heralding themselves as Ireland's saviour. This, again in my opinion, is very distasteful.

Honest to God; Simons and her crew were canvassing Walkinstown last night; as a friend of mine tried to get away and close the door, they told her, unprompted, did you know that she's a mother of five?!

As my friend said; wow, she's had unprotected sex 5 times, she certainly deserves her vote.

Big deal. Miriam O'Callaghan is three up on her but I bet she didn't lobby Cathal Goan and co for the LLS job on that point.
