More random, pointless personal information that should appear on politicians leaflets.

Isn't that a similar ratio to your own positive/negative posting habits?

Anyhow, if you're interested in the question of why motherhood is the sole reason why somebody should hold public office, maybe you could ask likes of Councillor Claire Byrne, who you may know from Young Fine Gael.

Claire was co-opted to Dublin City Council in 2007.

Are you going to tell us who she replaced, or will I come back after a pregnant pause?

For all her sins, at least Caroline Simmons is seeking election to public office as a mother rather than coasting in to public office because of her mother.

Can anyone explain why Simons feels the need to repeat this information twice on a leaflet that is otherwise dedicated to attacking her opponents?

Simons is chasing the backward, conservative, reactionary vote so she wants to prove:

    1) That she is a distinguished breeder
    2) That a Simons political dynasty is viable: these backward voters expect nepotistic clans to keep it in the family

But I'll tell you this. Where's this idea that childbirth is a miracle came from. Ha, I missed that ******************************g meeting, okay? "It's a miracle, childbirth is a miracle." No it's not. No more than a miracle than eating food and a turd coming out of your ass. It's a chemical reaction, that's all it ******************************g is. If, you wanna know what a miracle is: raisin' a kid that doesn't talk in a movie theatre. Okay, there, there, there is a goddam miracle. It's not a miracle if every nine months any yin yang in the world can drop a litter of these mewling cabbages on our planet.

I don't think it necessarily qualifies one for a career in politics - although, the ability to control unruly, squabbling brats could come in handy alright.

Pascal Mooney keeps harping on about how he is a "good Catholic with 5 kids". Don't see a thread on that.
