Libertas, the Carribean Swimming Pool and the Flat Ski Slope

Libertas are going around claiming that the EU has spend €22m on swimming pools in the Carribean and €100k on a flat ski slope in Denmark.

Can anyone shed any light on these claims?

I cannot find anything, other than references in letters sent by John McGuirk to the national media.

I was handed a leaflet yesterday. On reading it, my thoughts were:

"Does this man think I am that thick?"

I can shed light on those claims: the author is engaging in the well-honed Libertas art of blatant lying. Come on Cookie, back up these claims.

Shame on that rag the Independent for publishing more gross deception of the Irish electorate.

Well the swimming pool claim was a complete LIE, as was their claim that Jim Higgins had some involvement in it. This was verified by EU Commission officials in correspondence with the Irish Independent.

I wonder can Cookie Monster give us some actual evidence to back up these lies cooked up by Ganley and the nerdy sad-case liars who staff his offices?

I new about a proposal to build a swimming pool for MEPs, which was subsequently knocked back, but I've heard nothing about a pool in the Caribbean.

God knows what the flat ski slope is about. I wouldn't be surprised if some part of Interreg funding had been used to build a recreational facility somewhere, in the same way it has been used to build sporting facilities all along our own border.

The real question we should be asking is not if it is true - as Libertas utterances rarely are - but why the Indo would publish such tripe.

Flat ski slope (an oxymoron in any case) or cross-country skiing training area?

Why bring this up again it is old and has already been dealt with in the main stream media weeks ago?
    Electioneering goosebump?
Low politics Read on at EUObserver Honor Mahony

It is a curious flavour that Libertas leader Declan Ganley is bringing to the European stage. A level of politics that leaves a bad taste in the mouth - no matter where one stands on the question of the EU.

For a while last week, my mailbox was filled with an extraordinary exchange of increasingly unpleasant emails between Ganley and Marian Harkin, an Irish MEP running against him in the North West constituency in Ireland.

It concerned where each candidate stands on abortion. A topic that, pre-Ganley, had not been harnessed to the EU elections in Ireland. But which is sensitive in this socially conservative constituency................Read on at EUObserver Honor Mahony.

I see from the letter in the Indo that McGuirk is now styling himself Director of Elections. Liebertas really are fùcked if they're having to rely on a doorknob like McSquirt to organise their election camapaign.

Oh Cookie, where aaaaarrrh you? Another crock of sh!te cause needs you to run to its rescue. Did Libertas pay the Indo an 'honorarium' (as you call them ) to accept that letter of lies?

Cookie has a lot of s### to eat after last week's fiasco he usually goes to ground after Libertas have been caught lying or napping or just plain are an embarrassment to themselves

imagine what a Libertas representative would be like?

Plus several questions that need to be answered
Did Phillipe de Villiers also walk out?

What did Libertas do with the rebel Poles?
    etc
