You know, hire some top-notch PR people, spend a bit of money getting your message out there. After all, a clear pro-EU message wouldn't be hard to put out, surely.

Just a thought. You can suggest it in-house, if you like.

Not at all, but if we didn't have your employer muddying the waters quite so much things wouldn't be half as bad.

All the pieces are coming together...
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

My employer is me, Cookie, and has been all along. However, the EU isn't spending any money or time "muddying the waters" about Libertas - you're generating your own opposition, and your own mud, I'm afraid.

You're lying down with dogs all over Europe, and you're surprised you're itching...

And another view people would hold is that the European Union is our hope in these uncertain times.

The president of the European Parliament sent a delegation to the US charged with the task of asking questions about Libertas and their supposed US links when the question had been asked and answered quite publicly in the presence of a journalist from the Irish Times, Dept of Foreign Affairs officials.
For a man so concerned about the specter of a US funded Libertas destroying the EU, Pottering wasn't terribly well informed when he issued these instructions, was he?
What's more, then the delegation were quietly referred to the debate where the US Deputy Secretary of State quite emphatically denied any US involvement in Libertas what did Pottering & Co. do with that information... Not a thing. This is a prime example of muddying the waters.
