    3) Severe spending restrictions and disclosure requirements on a par with other parties
Indeed there are challenges ahead, but those involved managed to over come all the odds set against them in the run up to the first Lisbon referendum. The ability and determination of the very smart and capable people involved will, no dount, provide another fascinating element in what seems to me is set to be the most interesting European elections yet.

I don't know about Labour, but FG candidates displayed their EPP alleigance very heavily in 2004.

FF effectively don't have an EU parliament grouping (worth speaking about anyway)

Sorry, but what odds were stacked against them? They spent more money than all other political parties combined, and had more airtime than Fine Gael and Labour combined.

That's odds stacked in their favour, if anything

I can see an awful lot of people looking like idiots while doing so. If you want to be one of them then that is your choice and your problem.
Fair play for "getting in the ring" and contesting the elections but expect that phrase to be heard a lot.

Sure politico's like you and me know it isn't exactly completely truthful but elections aren't won and lost on politically aware peoples votes.

They didn't have the established background of the main political parties, they were in opposition to those parties and they also had the main media organs of the country against them. They has numerous weirdo people making stuff up about the group's leader and they worked for every minute of media time, every colum inch and every vote that they got.

Have LIbertas fielded a candidate in an election somewhere, or are you suggesting that No votes are Libertas votes?

What makes them Libertas votes, as opposed to say, Jim Corr votes?
