ah thats just the ususal bollockology thrown up to obsfucate the issue .
its typical of roach and co to defacto smear those areas as "racist" and wouldnt put it past them to have had a party faithfull phone that in . the fact is "working class areas" have far more experience of being ********************ed over by politicians than the leafy suburbs types and know a con job when they see one.
the brown envelope brigade never went near the foxrocks and greystones of the world, hence why they actually still TRUST politicians. but tallaght? with STILL half the number of gardai per person than the aran islands and having to fight for a decade to get a hospital for an area with a population of 100k is a
weeee bit more cynical.
im not saying no one voted no because of that, but you could make the same arguement that people voted yes on the same grounds too as its just as relevant to the treaty and would represent just as small a figure on that side too.
i know more people who were more worried about the doddgyness of the whole process after the constitution got binned than were conscerned about immigration.
TBH to sum it up simply, its not the immigrants- its the
policiy of the politicians that lied to us to allow it (paraphrasing dick roche from the nice 2 affair "less than 20 thosand people will come here from the accession countries, to say anything more is a xenophobic scaremongering slur" or words to that effect) so what to stop them lying about lisbon?
after all dick swore blind at the time of nice we wouldnt lose our comissioner, and now the cheeky bastard is using that as club to bludgeon people into voting FOR lisbon !
