Klaus compares EP Presidents meeting to soviet era politics

Did anyone hear the RTE News at 1? Heard a snippet at the end that a delegation of Irish MEPs met the great libertarian today and gave him a piece of their minds re. his inappropriate meeting with Ganley and his comments while here on his state visit. He bullishly said that Ireland was like a "Soviet Era dictatorship".

    Did anyone hear it properly?
I will check and see if it is on their site. It was after the sport at the end of the broadcast.

I'm sure he meant the EU was. If Radio Lisbon are just taking the word of pro-Treaty MEPs for it then I wouldn't trust the report as far as I could throw it - not least after the hatchet-job on Declan Ganley.

just watched the primetime again , The Leader said clearly"You are entitled to ask that" re questions lick your wounds and get over it.

There was an interview but I did not catch who was talking and quoting Klaus. Sounds like he flipped
    though

The two threads re this should be merged

ZOMG you're spamming your own thread. lol
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

If this thread was here first, the other will be closed. There's a mention of the disagreement here: Klaus argues with Cohn-Bendit in presidential seat - ?eskéNoviny.cz and here:Czech eurosceptic president "goes mad" at meeting MEPs - Czechnews - Aktuáln? ...

I don't see a mention of the 'Stalin-era' jibe, but if he said it then it's silly hyperbole. Having said that, a Government that effectively will only take one of the two answers to such a major sovereignty-defining issue, 'vote again until you get it right', is asking for unflattering comparisons...

Right. Because that is more accurate.
