Klaus was elected President by the parliament, just as Cowen was elected Taoiseach by the Dáil.
Klaus wasn't elected by the people. He doesn't have an electoral mandate. He was selected by the Czech political elite (parliament). Cowen and all in the cabinet were elected as TDs.

Accordingly, by eurosceptics-on-P.ie standards, Klaus is a member of the unelected elite. Conveniently, however, they will avert their eyes from this uncomfortable little home truth.

Ah yes, the universally accepted standard of political credibility
To live honestly, to hurt no one, to give every one his due.

The Wall Street Journal is so right wing, it preferred McCain ahead of Obama for president. Logic and reality are not a strong point.
No wonder they have blind support for climate change denying goose-steppers like Klaus. They love him.
