When will the U.K (and Ireland) realise that Europe does exist and silly reports from uninformed sensation-seeking British newspapers, albeit with a reputation for being serious, suggesting and almost demanding the end of Schengen will NOT work.
Whatever the British decide on their internal security exclusively concerns them and not the greater Schengen European Union. The Guardian clearly understands this yet feels it can justify its stance/reports on the basis of being a major British newspaper. The claim to be reporting from Bruxelles is suspect.
One of the major tenets of the European Union is real freedom of movement embodied in the Treaty being discussed here in preparation for our referendum. Any amount of waffle can be written/discussed but a country that does not adhere to these principles is not worthy of membership of the free Schengen European Union.
Only the Schengen countries can claim to be true loyal members of the European Union of the 21st century and this will not be threatened by The Guardian or for that matter the Sky News.
Take note: U.K. and Irish civil servants who closely watch politics.ie
