Enda Kenny: a giant of a European Statesman whose experience we need for Brexit, Common tax and to save the Euro. Discuss.

Where did this narrative come from?
He's been in the EPP a long time. And knows people. That's about it.

But can the Kenny shills point out his successes?

    Enda Kenny in Europe...

Here he is lecturing the Greeks to follow his version of what he didn't do

Day 1 optimism: how did that work out?

Not an EU meeting, but some might find it poor form

And not forgetting his comments to European Peoples Party
"The Governor of the Central Bank in Ireland said to me: 'it looks like this weekend...you'll have to put army around the banks and around the ATM machines and introduce capital controls like they had in Cyprus'."

The image which defines his status in Europe...

If you want the clips to display, take the 's' out of the https and use the [ video] [/ video] tags to enclose the links. (remove the spaces between the brackets.

He was poor, folded in most major EU discussions. He is now a lame duck leader which is why we need a new leader asap. No point having yesterday's man dealing with Brexit.

The useless little fool would probably hand over Ireland to the British for a pat on the head.

He might have done that already and "forgotten" it.

i am not a fan of his in general but only reasons i would leave him where he is is brexit isn't starting next month it started the day of the result last summer. Thats his experience.
it counts for little and if anyone brings more to the table then have the discussion quickly and move on.

if some one is on par with him we are making a big change in personal for someone of a similar standard close to article 50 being triggered. That is silly.

Most of the work will be done by others but the buck stops with him.

The op lists a number of senarios where he bent the knee and thats relevant. So we basically need someone who is prepared to listen to threats by others to maul the state if we don't take their line and not blink.

The only politician who did that over a long period of time in this country is adams. Some may say he settled for to little in the GFA but for decades he didn't blink but there is no chance of him being taoiseach in the next few weeks.

    so or options are

    a) kenny
    b) leo
    c) simion a haon
    d) simon a dó
    e) an election and martin goes in.

they are all around the same level. on brexit from b to e i don't see any one sufficiently stronger than kenny to warrant his removal.

Of course brexit isn't the only issue facing this state. B to E may out preform kenny on other area's and its up to a select few in the FG parliamentary party to decide that.

there is no dev with a disciplined support base who are prepared to stick out a harsh economic war so the politicians can come back with the suspension of the land anualties, a few extra ports and lay the ground for recognition of a constitution that removed the english crown as head of state, something a decade prior britain threatened to go to immediate and terrible war for.

Are our politicians puppets on a string as in that meme for individual character flaws or for other reasons. The reason collins got the treaty, the reasons dev got more is because that generation taught about things a bit above bitching about them.
