DKK to EUR is 'pegged' at 7.45 to 1 ( +/- 1%), but I've seen transactions on my credit card with a rate as low as 7.28, although normal 'tourist rate' appears to be 7.38.

Heavy words are so lightly thrown.
I don't know what'll happen there but Danes are fiercely independent and support for the EU is at a record low. That being said they're so connected to Germany it'd make life easier. Will be interesting to see what knock on effect (if any) there is to Sweden.

I think they will join for pure ease of use reasons..
makes sense..
I would welcome the Danes to the Euroclub, while hoping they get a vote on the Reform Treaty. This referendum shouldn't be used to fob off those wanting a vote on the Reform Treaty. I think it will be interesting to see whether the opt outs are part of one vote or separate questions for each.
If they do choose, and I expect they will as the timing is good for them, it would be a welcome boost to the Euro with uncertain times ahead. Can the UK be far behind? Brown seems to have been very quite and this will reopen the Euro debate in the Britain.
Makes sense: it would help tourism from Germans and tourists alike in Northern Germany.
As much as i would love to see the UK join I think we will see Albania using the euro firstOriginally Posted by Thac0man
Gordon Brown is quiet on the subject but Bertie is quite on Ireland joining NATO doesn't mean its going to happen.
However you are right it will reopen the debate especially if Sweden followed suit pretty quickly.
I hope the Danish except it, they really should, and i hope the UK can at some point have a real debate on the EU and the Euro
