I don't think free speech should cover rants on public transport on any subject. You are not entitled to a captive audience for whatever you have to say.

Yes. Any form of racism is disgusting but when non whites racially abuse white people it's over looked and seen as a "bit of harmless banter" by some.

All racism is disgusting whether you're white, black, red, yellow or purple with orange spots.

I have been to quite a number of countries.

The worst racism I have seen so far has been Arab on African.

If an Iraqi from Bagdad (white) meets an Iraqi from the southern Marshlands (black), odds are there will be at least a slanging match or violence.

Somali's will literally attack Somali's from neighouring areas in Somalia, let alone anyone else.

If you want to see a real explosion of racist hatred, just sit a Philipino in the same room as someone who is Japanese or a Nigerian in the same room as a Somali.

As for the widespread belief that Irish people are not racist, I can assure you they are.

Racism is everywhere. We just have to learn to face it down.

You would have to be a little strange to confront him yourself as he obviously wanted a confrontation and could well have been armed.
If he was armed would he not have taken out the weapon and rid the world of a few white folk?

Since when has it been considered strange to confront peoples' ignorances - or tell them to "shut the f*ck up" when in rant mode?

So if I got on the Luas and began ranting about the government you'd what... have me whisked off to gaol or slapped with a fine?

He's equally disgusting as the English tram ranter, however he's not holding a small, innocent and cute child while he's going off on his mad one.

That's why the English tram racist video went viral: the juxtaposition of the innocence of the kid with the hatred of the mother.
