EP wants EU flag on Paul O'Connell.

The European Parliament wants all national sports teams in the EU to have the EU flag on their kit.

The resolution was passed by a large majority today.

Ireland plays Wales on Sunday in the 6 Nations (dodgy word there) Rugby. There is just enough time to stitch the EU emblem onto the green jerseys.

    Should we do it?

Yes. The national sides have prostituted themselves already. What's one more john in a night?

They hardly hold the high morl goround when they've sold the naming rights to the national stadium and to pretty much everything else.

Why not, we are all driving around with it on our cars, or did you not notice that?

I'm not. We should all remove them.
The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.

Absolutely not. In fact, if I were in government, I'd make it illegal to wear the EU flag on national sports kits, or to have it over government/council/state-owned buildings.
I'm 16. I despise every current Irish party, except the SDLP and the Alliance(I support neither). Economic Left/Right:-5.12 - Social Libertarian/Authoritarian:-0.36

Reminds me of Mullah Omar issuing directives to the people of Afghanistan as to how they should wear their turbans!

Nice spot, He3, this thread should be manna for the anti-everything, burn everybody, lynch the Cabinet crowd!!!!!

Are you going to be neutral or weigh in on one side?

I'll start by saying, I think this is a terrible good idea, fosters unity division and makes us all feel a apart of one Glorious Europe!!

Yes but you're not only not allowed in govt, you're not allowed a full time job in McDonalds. Thankfully.

Stupid idea, waste of time my the MEPs voting on it who really ought to have better things to be doing. If it's just someone justifiying their position by saying "Look I put something to vote!!!!" then fine I guess, if they thought this had any hope of going ahead then they're idiots.
If you're the first out the door, that's not called panicking.
