One of our treaties is missing - anyone know who took it?

The treaty on the European Stability Mechanism, signed amid some fanfare last July, has disappeared from its home on the EU website.

A google search fails to bring any working link up anywhere official. P.ie has a thread with most of the text, but not everyone relies on P.ie as a source of treaty law

There is some suggestion here that it is now being revamped, but that would be strange seeing that it was signed off over seven months back.

There must be a simple explanation for this.

    Any clues?

They are probably adding a few more immunities and dictatorial powers.

It was taken down and the paper was recycled, apparently the ECB needs all the paper it can get at the moment, I don't know why?

There is no such treaty. There is however a DRAFT treaty, which has been undergoing constant revision and redrafting. It has just undergone another bout of changes today. As soon as the text has been updated to take into account today's changes it will be back up again.

I don't mean you, HE, but some nuts on here would scream 'conspiracy' if the text on the website is not the up-to-date up-to-the-minute version, accusing the EU of trying to hide something. But when it is taken down to allow the updated version to be put up, they . . . scream conspiracy and accuse the EU of trying to hide something. They let their paranoia run away with them no matter what someone does.

"Irish citizens . . . on ratification of the Treaty could be forced to become Euro soldiers." Sinn Féin claim on Maastricht in 'Democracy or Dependency' p.6. in 1992.

Tommy, you must have missed the signing ceremony.

    Here's the video.

    Eurogroup meeting - July 2011

'Signing ceremony of the ESM Treaty'.

So your explanation won't quite carry.

Did they not go through with ratification after all, and have they now reopened it?
