Not really. It's perfectly possible that the treaty signed in July 2011 was agreed then, but has since been superseded by a new version, which will require signature and ratification.

A google search fails to bring any working link up anywhere official. P.ie has a thread with most of the text, but not everyone relies on P.ie as a source of treaty law

There is some suggestion here that it is now being revamped, but that would be strange seeing that it was signed off over seven months back.

There must be a simple explanation for this.

    Any clues?
Dam them shysters I knew they were up to no good... revamping the treaty on the sly methinks.

I'd hate to think they would do such a thing with an international treaty involving a potential Irish cash contribution running to over €11 billion.

    Strange days.

Tommy's claim that 'there is no such treaty' has a rival from sdf - ' there are two of 'em'.

Maybe we should have a poll?

    Any other explanations welcome.

Not two, just a revision of the previously agreed draft. Or possibly just malfunctioning websites.

It is possible to contact the EU you know, instead of posing questions on p.ie

Remember when you kept asking for the text of the Irish Protocol and refused to accept that the text of the Decision would be substantially replicated in the Protocol?

That was an example of when you could have contacted the relevant EU institution for information, instead of posting questions pointlessly here.

Here are 2 articles about what has been going on:

Looks like next week's summit is to agree the latest version as everyone now seems to agree on the changes. Finland seems to have been the main one insisting on amendments.
If the Treaty was actually 'signed' last year, looks like it was more an initialing by heads of state and government (agreement in principle) that would have no legal bearing in terms of meeting formal ratification requirements.

Helsingin Sanomat - International Edition - Business & Finance
"A final seal is to be put on the ESM treaty at an EU summit on Monday next week."

EU's bailout fund capacity can be adjusted by governors-draft | Reuters

"The treaty would come into force once countries representing 90 percent of the subscribed capital ratified it -- a lower threshold than the earlier envisaged 95 percent."

They don't sign drafts as final treaties sdf, as you know.

A signed treaty isn't a ratified treaty as you know.

If the ESM has been changed, the new version will be online in due course.

If it hasn't, them I'm sure its absence is simply a technical glitch.

Yes, I was the one to point that out here first.

    We wait with bated breath.
