It's called the United Nations. It seems to work reasonably well in some areas, less well in others.

By saying that you are only parading your ignorance. As I said, you might be wise to pay heed to the wisdom of Socrates and seek to at least know what you do not know before engaging in such assertions.

Unlike the EU, it does not have political unity on it's agenda

Yes, you need to learn history. This is the same way Bismarck built his German Empire. Now Ireland, once a nation, be a province once again. If you think that the government in Brussels is democratic, then you must be a communist, because that government is a copy of the Soviet government with the only difference being the (in name only) multi-party system inhabiting its equivalent of the Supreme Soviet.

So funny how those that bloviate about "democracies" seemingly have no knowledge of what a true democracy is...or perhaps how sad. Basic rights such as habeas corpus are illegal in the EU. Basic democratic tools such as accountability of politicians to the people (appointed politicians answer to nobody), nobody being above the law (immunity from prosecution puts politicians above the law), no separation of powers (an executive that both writes and passes laws?—that's ruling by decree—and a legislature that can't write laws?) are utterly absent in the EU. The sacred "veto" has been shown to have zero power.

Care to try again? because I really dislike equivocators, with all due respect.

I'm not trying to turn you into anything, although you might want to spend some time turning yourself into a less ignorant person.

Europe and the EU are not synonymous.

It does, to a certain extent.
