    Can we not leave them to their own devices for another while?

    Aren't they allocated seats on the basis of UK population? Don't think an all-Ireland EU election would work in those circumstances.
    It was an off the top of the head post although I think it would be an interesting idea from the point of view of letting UK Irish Unionists know what its like to have constituents from across the border and vica-versa.
    Just as a little taster, perhaps, of things to come.
    Bazinga!

    Personally I think they will keep the constituencies the same with Dublin losing a seat this time

    Wouldn't four three-seaters make sense, with Dublin simply losing a seat?

    The reason being I really think that the constituencies being so large the connection between the politician and the voter is remote.

    Personally I'd like 3 constituencies;

    Greater Dublin (to include Meath Kildare and Wicklow)

    BMW

    The rest.

    I would prefer 2 constituencies:

    "East" (Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan), 7 seats.

    "West" (Munster, Connaught, Donegal), 5 seats.

    But I think they will go for 4 3-seaters, with Dublin losing a seat.

    A past thread on this.

    Not to brag about having proposed the exact sam boundaries some months ago or anything

    Aren't terms like "South" and so on are a bit plain?
