    Well..er Luxembourg on July 10. Can't see them being tempted by the dark side though.

    Its still 9-2 to the Yes side. France and Holland do not have a veto on the European Project.

    Yes indeed....it's still 9-2 to the yes side. I reckon the big lesson to be drawn from all this is surely that popular referendums are not way forward. They have produced those two black marks so far and surely from now on nations will learn that parliamentary ratification is a much better option. Silly old Holland eh? Asking its people what they think after just 50 years of integration by stealth.

    No referendums are important to confer legitimacy on EU treaties. In Ireland at least we should retain our referendum veto right on EU treaties. Politicians are not elected to hand all their powers to collective decision-making based on transnational sovereignty sharing.

    I agree we should share some sovereignty and I support the Euro but the time has come now where they should just leave this by and large as they are.
