I see you still can't tell truth from propaganda at any time. O'Connor's big steaming pile is the propaganda. I don't cite wackjob YouTube videos, you may have noticed. Sourcing the mainstream media is my forté; must be why everyone finds it so upsetting. It's not the nasty Germans he should be foaming at the mouth about but those perfidious Yanks who control all their German puppets' strings
Here's a very interesting map, showing the location of German military deployments around the Middle East. Notice the area they surround.
Oof. At Davos of all places, the Reichsfreiherr zu Guttenberg took the opportunity to announce Germany's expansion of its miliitary, as an initiative that's endemic to Germany's economy. Where have we seen this before...? Anyone who neglected to consider the big-picture perspective last time, here's your opportunity to give it a try.

DAVOS: UPDATE: Germany Govt To Strengthen Military Industry
By Roman Kessler
DAVOS, Switzerland (Dow Jones)—Germany's government launched an initiative to strengthen its military industry during the World Economic Forum this weekend in the latest sign that the country has become emboldened to fight for its international interests. ...
German defence minister Karl-Theodor Freiherr zu Guttenberg brought up the "necessary interplay of defence policy and Germany's economic interests," at a breakfast meeting with a group of top-managers from utilities, chemical groups and other companies, his spokesman said. ...
Angela Merkel's new centre-right coalition, which came to power about 100 days ago, is consistently working on the profile of its foreign and defence policy, analysts said.
"Germany has come a long way since unification toward expeditionary activities including, but not only in, Afghanistan. Think of the Balkans," said Executive Director Jackson Janes of Washington-based think tank American Institute for Contemporary German Studies.
"But there remains a closed debate about it within certain circles, but not so much at the public level. I think the U.S. would like to see Germany step up its engagements, but also bring Europe along with it," he added.
In the coalition treaty, parties agreed at the end of October to strive for a permanent seat on the U.N.'s security council that Germany should share with its neighbours "to take over more responsibility."
But as the U.K. and France are unlikely to give up their veto rights, some say that this would mean establishing a German-dominated seat in which others like Spain, Italy and eastern Europeans would participate. ...
The deal to develop the (Airbus) A400M transport was clinched in 2003 to enable European military to facilitate deployment in out-of-area missions of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, such as the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. "That it is why I want the A400M," Bruederle told the group. He added that it was part of a wider push to support German weapons makers. "Germans are still a little bit shy in this domain, but we'll work to change this too," Bruederle said.

Its clear the German people want peace.
The text you quote shows a US expert saying america wants Germany to "step up its engagements"
Merkel ,who supported the Iraq war, is going meekly along with the wishes of her US masters.
The only German leader who upset the US was Schroeder, who was called a prostitute for his friendly atitude to Russia
Honestly, people on this island have long memories when it comes to other peoples history and wars which we didn´t engage in. The rest of the world has moved on. The growth and expansion of any industry anywhere in the EU is good for us also and should not be begrudged.
Would we rather U.S. domination of the defence market with their substandard equipment? U.S. Abrams tanks 60 of which were delivered to Australia in 2006, now only 5 remain operational and cannot be maintained or deployed with service support and programming from the US. Same US control is maintained over F16 international sales.
And no, Germany is not trying to take over the world.
