    The UKIP

What do people think of this conservative, centre-right party? I would not support British withdrawal from the EU, but I think some of their other policies have merit, though I'm not sure what kind of politicians it has.

The UKIP was a short-term phenomenomdesigned for the 2004 euro-elections and they really did well then.

However, since then there has been no such party to speak of. They had no support at the 2005 general elections. There will always be demand for an euro-sceptic party in the euro-elections but at the national level, such parties are not taken seriously.

The FPTP system in Britain makes it very hard for smaller parties to do well. The success of UKIP in the Euros shows that if this were any other country than Britain then an anti mass immigration Party would most certainly win seats in Parliament!

The Daily Telegraph have been building up UKIP a lot lately. I think this might be because they are afraid that Cameron may make the Tories too Social Democratic in his bid to make them electable again. Ergo the Telegraph warns, "take the party too far from it's traditional base, David, and be prepared to lose support to this credible, laissez faire, small government alternative". Except it's not really working -- polls are showing little progress for UKIP and no move beyond it's traditional support base.

Thanks for the tip Nils, good to know. I do think Cameron is rather unconservative though.

UKIP is just a fringe party, barely registering in opinion polls.

What does UKIP and Sinn Fein Have in common?
    They both want brits out

    Old joke but i like
Obviously UKIP are the polar opposite to my political views, they appear to me to be highly paranoid and not living in the real world I have read a very active message message board set up by UKIP members
Among all the usual euroscarmongering about the EU and french there is a thread that says the blair, Thatcher, Heath, major and even the queen should be hanged for treason for singing the various EU treaties

They are the BNP which more money and better accents

Apparantely for them Romania is a third world country and therefore openly oppose Romania's EU accession.
