Climate change fanatics want to create climate change to 'fight climate change'.

The lunatic ambitions of the “man-made” climate change fanatics are reaching new heights. They also pose a serious danger to human survival – the very objective they claim to champion. Among the latest Frankenstein proposals are “cloud ships” to generate more cloud and deflect the sun’s rays. This scheme envisages 1,900 wind-powered ships cruising through the world’s oceans creating bad weather.

Scientists insist the effects would be purely local (how can climate interference be localised, without a domino effect?) and that it could be reversed. This would cost a mere $9 billion, compared to the $395 trillion it would cost to launch mirrors into space to deflect the sun. We should count ourselves lucky this fruitcake scheme to switch off the light that sustains life on earth is too expensive to be implemented.

Man-made global warming is a fantasy. Climate change is occurring – as it always has – and is harmless. The same cannot be said for the unspeakably irresponsible proposals of scientists whose egos have far outstripped their knowledge. For now the danger is that man-made climate change will genuinely take place - engineered by the global warming alarmists themselves, who cannot leave well alone.
At last, man-made climate change is a threat - engineered by the global-warming fanatics themselves - Telegraph Blogs

The Copenhagen Consensus Centre—a respected European think tank which used to be skeptic on climate change—is now advising that we should spend $9 billion in building 1900 cloud-generating ships like the one above. Why? To cool down Earth:

When you spray saltwater into the air, you create nuclei that cloud condenses around, creating bigger and whiter clouds, thus bouncing more sunlight back into space.

That's what David Young, a member of the panel that created the report, says. The fully automated vessels will cross the oceans absorbing water and spraying it into the skies. They say this will help the formation of big, whiter clouds, which will make the sun light bounce, lowering temperatures.

A flotilla of 1900 cloud ships would be needed to cruise the Pacific Ocean in order to create clouds that would deflect the sun rays and curb global warming.
The project, now being worked on by U.S. and UK scientists is the favorite among many schemes aimed at fighting climate change. It would see wind-powered ships travelling the ocean sucking up seawater and spraying minuscule droplets of it out through tall funnels to create large white clouds, reports the Telegraph.
David Young, from the think-tank that commissioned the study said

When you spray saltwater into the air, you create nuclei that cloud condenses around, creating bigger and whiter clouds, thus bouncing more sunlight back into space.

It wouldn't be too bad if the the people that are proposing the geo-engineering of the planet were only fringe lunatics, the trouble with these dangerous lunatics is that they have access to power and they will use it.

Who remembers the eugenicist John Holdren?. Obamas science 'czar'.

    The guy that co-wrote "Ecoscience" with eugenicists Paul Erhlich and Anne Erhlich;

“Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.”
“If some individuals contribute to general social deterioration by overproducing children, and if the need is compelling, they can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility—just as they can be required to exercise responsibility in their resource-consumption patterns—providing they are not denied equal protection.“
“In today’s world, however, the number of children in a family is a matter of profound public concern. The law regulates other highly personal matters. For example, no one may lawfully have more than one spouse at a time. Why should the law not be able to prevent a person from having more than two children?”
    Toward a Planetary Regime

“Perhaps those agencies, combined with UNEP and the United Nations population agencies, might eventually be developed into a Planetary Regime—sort of an international superagency for population, resources, and environment. Such a comprehensive Planetary Regime could control the development, administration, conservation, and distribution of all natural resources, renewable or nonrenewable, at least insofar as international implications exist. Thus the Regime could have the power to control pollution not only in the atmosphere and oceans, but also in such freshwater bodies as rivers and lakes that cross international boundaries or that discharge into the oceans. The Regime might also be a logical central agency for regulating all international trade, perhaps including assistance from DCs to LDCs, and including all food on the international market.”

“The Planetary Regime might be given responsibility for determining the optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries’ shares within their regional limits. Control of population size might remain the responsibility of each government, but the Regime would have some power to enforce the agreed limits.”

WASHINGTON - Tinkering with Earth's climate to chill runaway global warming — a radical idea once dismissed out of hand — is being discussed by the White House as a potential emergency option, the president's new science adviser said Wednesday.

That's because global warming is happening so rapidly, John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month.

The concept of using technology to purposely cool the climate is called geoengineering. One option raised by Holdren and proposed by a Nobel Prize-winning scientist includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays.

Using such an experimental measure is only being thought of as a last resort, Holdren said.

"It's got to be looked at," he said. "We don't have the luxury ... of ruling any approach off the table."

His concern is that the United States and other nations won't slow global warming fast enough and that several "tipping points" could be fast approaching. Once such milestones are reached, such as complete loss of summer sea ice in the Arctic, it increases chances of "really intolerable consequences," he said.

Twice in a half-hour interview, Holdren compared global warming to being "in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog."

He and many experts believe that warming of a few degrees more would lead to disastrous drought conditions and food shortages in some regions, rising seas and more powerful coastal storms in others.

    'Vigorous process going on'
At first, Holdren characterized the potential need to technologically tinker with the climate as just his personal view. However, he went on to say he has raised it in administration discussions.

"We're talking about all these issues in the White House," Holdren said. "There's a very vigorous process going on of discussing all the options for addressing the energy climate challenge."

Holdren said discussions include Cabinet officials and heads of sub-Cabinet level agencies, such as NASA and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Whats funny is that the evidence is there and not on some conspiracy nuts website. Its actually there out in the open, but more importantly its in reality!! Yet the masses cannot comprehend something so big that they just instantly dismiss it. They have been groomed and spoonfed into docile little creatures.

Never mind the OP; what about the credentials of the Telegraph hack who wrote the piece?

Gerald Warner is an author, broadcaster, columnist and polemical commentator who writes about politics, religion, history, culture and society in general.
Absolutely none. Imagine my shock. I guess for many, the Telegraph qualifies as a peer reviewed journal.

    It isn't.

BTW, the plan mentioned is as idiotic as it is wasteful.

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."

    Albert Einstein.

I don't know if CC is caused (entirely) by humans - climate is complex - but the idea that we aren't having an adverse effect on the planet is laughable.

Sorry, but citing the weather in your back yard shows that you don't know the difference between weather and climate.
    Weather:
"The state of the atmosphere at a given time and place, with respect to variables such as temperature, moisture, wind velocity, and barometric pressure."

    Climate:
"The meteorological conditions, including temperature, precipitation, and wind, that characteristically prevail in a particular region."

Now, to the Eugenics/Population control issue:

Here's the reality of a growth based economy: at a 2% growth rate, an economy will double every 35 years. Divide your rate into 70 to find the double time (the "rule of 70", also known as the "rule of 72").

Rule of 72 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

China, at a 10% rate, doubles its economy every 7 years.

World human population prior to the industrial revolution was approx 1 billion; today, as the result of big agri/green revolution, it's 6.5, heading for 9.5 by ~2050. We're using oil and natural gas based fertilisers to expand the world population - in effect, using farmland to turn oil into people. The Green Revolution (so called) of the 1960s allowed human population to explode.

Norman Borlaug - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This revolution is now hitting limits to growth/production. Hence, the desire of food companies to use GMOs:

Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Monsanto's Modus Operandi (MO) - Monsanto Roundup (Glyphosate)

YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY, I'VE GOT PESTICIDES IN MY TUMMY!

According to a recent UN study, we'll have to double food production between now and 2050:
World must double food production by 2050: FAO chief | WFP | United Nations World Food Programme - Fighting Hunger Worldwide

Anyone who thinks that we keep on growing with business as usual without consequences has their head trapped in a strange reality bubble.

The reality is this: we (Obama, Gore, the Ehrlichs) are going to do nothing to cull the population. The system is going to sit back and let Nature do that, using her usual tools: War, Plague and Famine. The Free Market! The powers that be won't have to lift a finger.

Food, like oil, is fungible - countries that can't afford it will end up like Zimbabwe.

IF the communist Chinese couldn't make the one child policy work, then what hope is there for the West?

Like yeast in a jar of sugar, we double, double, double, chanting "growth is good", until our heads hit the lid. Then the fun starts.

I'd love to chat about this, but I have to watch my blood pressure - so won't dare stick around for the usual ad hominem replies and logical fallacies (already heard them: self indulgent twaddle, fascist, control-freak, eco-nazi, blah blah blah froth fume blah baby want toys); I need to ration my exposure to DAFT, and this page has already consumed today's quota (on both sides).

Here's a red pill. HIGHLY recommended (good Brain Food. BRrrrAINS...):

GUBA - Arithmetic, Population & Energy

Cheer up though; what we do won't make any difference either way. That's the subject for another post.

I take serious exception to these particular statements.

Natural climate change and man-made climate climage are not mutually exclusive. To assume they are is ridiculous.

"is harmless" just reeks of having no research done on the topic what-so-ever. Climate change can be very, very harmful, especially if it occurs rapidly.

There are indeed, wacky, wasteful and downright ridiculous "solutions" out there, but they shouldn't be used to discredit the idea that climate change is actually taking place and that we are having a part in it.

If global warming accelerates the way that is predicted (if no action is taken), there won't be any food to put on the table.
