I have taken a look at the SAC in the area of my farmer friends, the primary reason for this particular SAC seems to be simply the preservation of blanket bog, I have the twinkling of an idea for these farmers, apart from a wind turbine, what would be the ground rules for making an application to the Minister for a derogation, and would the local NPWS personnnel be available to assist with the application.

The minister of agriculture has stated there will be a new model of funding to replace REPS, however he does not know how it might woek beyond the fact that the fund will be much reduced, so in fact it seems that more areas of the west will become unsustainable for human habitation, I ponder the conservation impact of this fact

Should a farmer be paid to do this? Whatever happened to practical patriotism?

I would suggest feeding your family comes higher on the priority list, as it would with yourself if the government decided that your own method of income needed to be substantially modified in the national interest
