Would it not be possible to re-introduce them in a considerable number of areas (or maybe this is being done already) .... places springing to mind would be the Beara Peninsula, around Killarney, the Dingle Peninsula, (I appreciate that there is poisoning going on in Kerry) Mayo and Donegal.

Or would there be/is there poisoning going on such large scale or would it go on everywhere if there were re-intro attempts in numerous places around the country? - at least then one might still have the gombeens out with the poison somewhere but a better chance of at least some Eagle re-intro succeeding?
I reckon the Wicklow Mtns wud be a good spot, much of the land is already in a NP, plus the Red Kites(another re-introduced bird of prey) appear to be doing better there in terms of poisoning compared the dire situation in parts of the west
