I wanted to got to bed last night so I kept it short.
You should be able to get your name off their mailing lists by following the guideline in the pdf in the link I posted above. That would eliminate most if not all of the menus and advertisements, maybe not the clothes bags but you could just use them as normal plastic bags instead of throwing them out.
Has anyone on here taken themselves off the IDMA mailing lists and how successful is it?

It's hardly the governments fault that companies advertise! Emptying your green bin on the street is a stupid thing to do and makes it look like you're just looking for any excuse to be a cheap skate. It is also illeagal.

Now that you know a legal and fair way to stop the junk mail will you stop using street bins and advise the others to do likewise, those bins aren't emptied enough as it is without people putting their domestic waste in them!

How much do you pay for your green bin to be collected?

A point I raised earlier. You have to pay your yearly change to use the greenbin system.

I put up a "No Junk Mail" sign on my letter box months ago and haven't received one unwanted thing since. Not too complex.

It appears this person isn't interested in solutions to his problem.
