Excellent Skeptical Science graphic with 14 indicators that the planet is warming. I have never seen this graphic systematically refuted, or ever seen anyone try.

Now Skeptical Science has animated the graphic so that you use it as a powerpoint slide. http://www.skepticalscience.com/Anim...f-Warming.html

Just to dispove (again) the stale old denialist smear that temperature data is the property of a select group of scientists with no public accessability, here is a wonderful presentation of HADCRU data by Mapview. Incidentally, since HADCRU meets the tests of the resident deniers, then it is open season to use this data.
When you go to the site and select a region (in this case, Europe) you will see a grid like this

You have gridded data (red) (giving temps in the grids), HADCRU sources (gold), GHCN sources (blue) and both (green). The gridded data is an average of a selection of the stations within the grids.

You can click an icon and get the temperature chart of the data available. Here is a chart of the Ireland gridded data going back to 1880. You can add a smoother and a slope - here it gives an increasing trend of 0.068C per decade +/- 0.02. So warming on average for Ireland then. It is great the resident deniers agree with that.

Just to get up GiG's nose, I checked the trend for 1910 to 1940 and from 1980 to 2010:

    1910 - 1940: 0.153C/ decade
    1980 - 2010: 0.302C/ decade

No doubt, he'll explain to us what that means.

Anyway, here is the site. Bookmark and use frequently to check out what is being claimed.

Another one in the eye for the old denialist theme song "World sea ice is growing!!"

It's not, and by the look of things it may fall this year to its lowest area ever, or at least to the second lowest. The light grey line is the average, the dark blue line is the current total of Arctic and Antarctic ice area.

Neven has very nicely provided this data of previous minima (millions km^2):

    2005: 14.732 (Feb 10)
    2006: 14.392 (Feb 1)
    2007: 14.634 (Feb 10)
    2008: 15.579 (Feb 16)
    2009: 15.113 (Feb 23)
    2010: 14.880 (Jan 26)

    2011 current (Jan 24): 14.491

    Arctic Sea Ice

Edit: Replaced "extent" by "area" which is the more corrrect metric in use here.

    Arctic Sea Ice
    From YOUR link
    A note on Antarctica

While sea ice is growing in the Arctic, it is early summer in the Antarctic and sea ice is melting. For the past four months, Antarctic sea ice extent has remained well above average. The high ice extent around Antarctica appears to relate to a persistently positive phase of the Southern Annular Mode—an Antarctic counterpart to the Arctic Oscillation—and to the mild La Niņa conditions in the Pacific. In December 2010, the monthly mean Southern Annular Mode index was lower, and Antarctic sea ice extent had dropped back to within about standard deviation of the mean.

There is absolutely nothing special about Weymouth. My point is with a large enough data set one can find any kind of new record one wants to support any viewpoint one wants to. A practice generally known as cherry picking. I have no doubt if I spent 5 minutes on google I could find 10 towns who recorded their hottest day ever in Dec 2010 and another 10 who recorded their coldest day ever. Another 5 minutes and you'd find 10 towns who recorded their driest Decembers ever and and another 10 who recorded their wettest Decembers ever.

You have now been shown to be completely and utterly wrong. You can't even get what the IPCC claimed right.

lol there you go squirming again. The questions remain,

    1) Is James Hansen (gasp) a denier?
    2) Seeing as how dramatic rises in sea level are no longer on the cards what exactly are we supposed to be worried about?
