you gotta laugh at environmentalists, I think George Carlin sums them up perfectly here:

white bourgeois liberals...there is nothing wrong with the planet its the people that are fd..compared to the people the planet is doing fine

You know how cheap I am fiannafailure. I was promised the Bahamas were coming to me. That and the sea rising, dictated a trip to the mountains. The resort had 6 llamas roaming arround. I kid you not these dumb beasts with the stretched necks thought they were in the Andes, it was so cold. My shamrocks got shriveled going down those bloody water slides.

Poisonous gas from African lake poses threat to millions

It is estimated that the lake, which straddles the borders of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, now contains 300 cubic kilometres of carbon dioxide and 60 cubic kilometres of methane that have bubbled into the Kivu from volcanic vents. The gases are trapped in layers 80 metres below the lake's surface by the intense water pressures there. However, researchers have warned that geological or volcanic events could disturb these waters and release the gases.

World's largest science group rejecting man-made climate fears

An outpouring of skeptical scientists who are members of the American Chemical Society (ACS) are revolting against the group's editor-in-chief -- with some demanding he be removed -- after an editorial appeared claiming “the science of anthropogenic climate change is becoming increasingly well established.”

The editorial claimed the "consensus" view was growing "increasingly difficult to challenge, despite the efforts of diehard climate-change deniers.” The editor now admits he is "startled" by the negative reaction from the group's scientific members. The American Chemical Society bills itself as the "world's largest scientific society."

ACS is a congressionally chartered independent membership organization which represents professionals at all degree levels and in all fields of chemistry and sciences that involve chemistry.

The climate is changing all the time, and always has done, ever since the mega-monsoon climate of Pangaea ended with the splitting of the continents in the mid-Jurassic period.
But there is no debate permitted. It's a faith-based religion with true believers in the political classes who well see how to harness the Hobbiton dreams of delusionals to their aim of maintaining the gap of privelige in their own favour.

Yeah, so? Mine's still off as the temps haven't dropped below 15C daytime.

The idea that global warming will make every part of the planet warmer by the same degree in weather is 'silly'. The basic concept is about the increase in energy in the system. More energy (heat) actually produces more extremes of weather, the present wet, windy weather we're getting is a side-effect. More heat, more humidity(clouds), the more rain, also more wind as the pressure gradients increase. At least, this is how it effects the "temperate" zones.
