Majority of Britons don't believe "climate change" nonsense

A new poll published in today's Observer shows that the majority of Britons haven't been sucked into believed the "global warming" guilt trip of the tree huggers and the lick spittals alarmists in the media. Now can we please have a similar poll here and see how many idiots there are in this country, before we finally tackle some real issues?
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Finally, people who agree with me..

In my humble opinion, man (including woman) is being extremely arrogant to think that they either have had such effect on nature, or can change the effects that nature itself is having on the globe...
1,197 people agree with me.. how many agree with you ?

Arrogant yes, but to believe that we can totally fkuc up the entire planet and for there to be no consequences.

+/- One Trillion barrels of oil have been used to date.

Every barrel of oil contains +/-159 litres of oil, and every litre of oil consumed equates to +/-3 litres of CO2.

So, brain calculating feverishly, that equates to about 500 trillion litres of CO2 released into the environment in the last 150 years ........ from oil.

then we have releases from coal, turf and gas.

We know how much CO2 we have released into the environment.

We know the effect CO2 has on climate.

We can observe changes in the climate that correlate strongly with what we would expect given the increases in concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.

On the other hand, we have people who are consistently wrong about everything telling us (yet again) that the scientists are wrong.

I prefer to listen to the scientists

Finally a good contribution from Sinn Fein! I'll definitely be voting for you, then. Very intelligent people.

I cant give a link because I cant remember where I saw it. But when Mount Pinatubo (Phillipines ?) erupted a year or three back I remember a report saying it pumped more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in one day than the US economy does in 2 years. That has always stuck with me. Climate change ? Yes I think perhaps there is. Down to humans? No. I dont think its proven. Natural way of things.

I agree. Of course there is climate change. In fact the one thing we can be certain of is that there is allways and will allways be climate change. When there isn't climate change, now that's when we need to start worrying. I have a suspicion that some of this is being hyped in order to wean us off our carbon addiction via a vis oil dependendancy which isn't a bad thing. However alltogether apart from any argument on climate change, what can't be denied is that we are wreaking havoc on the environment generally. Here in Ireland it is everything from spreading ************************e to fertilize the over used land which ends up in our common aquifer, to the depletion of our marine resources through neglect or lack of adequate policing. Worldwide it is the general destruction of habitats through clearfelling and monoculture to the wholesale depletion and extinction of entire species some as yet undiscovered. I fear that with all the attention given to the much accepted though unproven climate change due to human activity, the far more urgent issue of pollution and waste is being ignored.

Most scientists would be aware of Mount Pinatubo, yet they are convinced based on the vidence to date that man-made climate change is not just a reality but a clear and present danger.

PS - it is in the nature of science that something like this cannot be absolutely and conclusively proven, but that does not mean that you should ignore the evidence and wait to see what happens.
