Bobert, might one suggest a weeny peek at the ever rising prices at the petrol pump?? If you don't believe in climate change, might I suggest a damascene conversion to sources of alternative energy anyway...BECAUSE THE FOSSIL FUELS ARE RUNNING OUT. The taxes may just be useful in sorting out out some alternative energy...before it is too darn late.
My own belief is that climate change is real, but governments are sensationalizing this and downplaying the scarcity issue, because they want to give us all the illusion that this is all a choice, not a necessity, they don't want panic. It isn't working, they'd be better off coming out and stating the problem straight, then we'd maybe have half a chance of getting a critical mass behind fixing it.
