I wonder how many of the previous 1000 posts respect refugees as people who have been or are at risk of being persecuted for reasons of they're religion, politics, Social group, nationality or race.

[edit: I took out reference to asylum seekers, because some people can't handle that those fleeing persecution would seek asylum. I'm assuming that some heredo understand that a recognised refugee has fled persecution]

Economic migrants are to be applauded for trying to build a better life for themselves and their families. But there's a billion people in Africa, and that's projected to double. Most of them farmers with not much skills. We can't take them all in.

Grenfell tower shows us that even the poshest neighbourhoods in the world are getting social housing full of migrants. Then there is ballaghadereen, Longford, tralee....send them on the dole to the poor neighbourhoods. IT'S utter madness.

Senators seek expanded family reunification rights for refugees
The change would allow for the reunification of grandparents, siblings and cousins

I know of one or two refugees that have brought family here. I was really surprised to hear that in one case one was homeless. The government don't pay for their flights etc it would seem. If family arrive it's up to them to support themselves. are we heading towards creating ghettos in this country?
I've seen the conditions some of these people live in and it is disgraceful.

Just not beside the luvvies,, the millionaire residents in Clontarf are up in arms and going to court to stop asylum seekers, funny that ?? , the D4 lot are not worried, it will never happen near Donnybrook so they can virtue signal all year around.

it is much better to send the money to where they live , there are plenty of safe areas in Syria, actually loads of safe areas, the liberal scumbags that are intent on destroying Irish culture and independence are fully at war against the wishes of the Irish people that voted in 2003.

it is simple madness to bring them to an Island on the edge of Europe that has nothing whatsoever to do with the sh1te Obama and Clinton started. Two wrongs do not make a right and the sooner people look for proper solutions the better,

House prices are escalating as there are tens of thousands of free houses taken up by anchor baby scammers, illegals and what nots that have no business being here, it's just a fact, it is of no benefit whatsoever to us a nation,, there is nothing wrong is saying that , there is no malice intended, you really have no idea of the billions spent and borrowed to keep this madness going, we are not looking for people to fill jobs, we are looking to reduce house prices, provide a future for our kids and help those more unfortunate,, in their own Countries,

WE have our own homeless, our own tough cases and should not be afraid of the Soros's, Merkels / Obamas / Clintons, Sutherlands and other corrupt clowns that want to drown us in debt for decades for their buddies, the banks,,

How to get Europe into massive debt ? flood the place with immigrants,, Banks and Wall street , win again,,

A whole load of foreigners arrived into my estate in Carlow town in the last few months, not a word of English between them and no signs of them having work.

The kids have no English at all and god help the local national schools and second level schools that have to take them as those classes will be severely hindered by the teachers having to devote so much of the time to those who can't understand them!

Class averages are dropping year after year because of migrant children and language issues and something will have to be done or we will end up with a system like in the UK or USA where state schools are the worst in the country and to be avoided at all costs by native Irish people.

These families look like your average European or possibly middle eastern although the girls and women do not wear the full bin-bag with net curtains or even the smaller carrier bag with eye slit. They are very probably eastern European.
