2007 sixth hottest year this century

According to environmentalists at the Hadley Centre in the UK, 2007 has turned out to be the sixth hottest year this century. Since the new century started in 2000, only 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 have been hotter than 2007. At the start of 2007, the same environmentalists at the Hadley Centre predicted that 2007 would be the hottest year ever. Failure on the part of 2007 to achieve this status is being blamed by the Hadley Centre environmentalists on La Nina. Another way of putting it is that 2007 has turned out to be the coldest year since 2001.

I can imagine the headlines in tomorrow's newspapers:
'Year described as mediocre by experts'

Of course the fact that the general trend has been up since 1850 is the real story. It may have been 6th hottest this centuary, but still 7th hottest overall. Worried? I am.
The fact that some people got a minor detail of a prediction wrong does not matter or is surprising. It was still in the the top couple percent. Calling it "the coldest year since 2001" is facetious at best.

More proof of the "global warming" nonsense.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

    It isn't actually.
There's a bank of people who dont believe this global warming theory.
    Fair enough.
However, peak oil, dependence on foreign energy, and the costs asscoiated with this are motive enough to pursue alternative energy, and reduce our dependence on Fossil fuels.

Oh well that settles it then, no need to worry. Boy is my face red, listening to all those scientists and experts!

We know all about weather and predictions in Ireland. The trend is worrying, that's for sure. Weird stuff could start happening if warming is a reality. They don't call it climate change for nothing - we could all start experiencing Melbournic weather soon (12º today, 42º next week) if it's true.

Anyway, save the oil if not the polar bears.

EDIT the new aussie administration have ratified the Kyoto agreement fair play

Well I dont believe in 'Global Warming' per se. I do, however, believe in catastrophic climate change brought on by human activity. Some areas may become warmer, some colder, some dryer and some flooding badly.

So perhaps thats what Keith means?
If I could mass-sterilise the planet, I would. Seriously.
