'Significant' oil find off Wexford coast

A "significant oil accumulation" has been found off Hook Head in Co Wexford, Irish oil and gas exploration firm Providence Resources reported today.

The oil was discovered some 60 kilometres offshore.

According to Providence, further drilling is expected next year.

60km off the wexford coast? Wouldn't that be in UK waters?

depends on direction, if its south then not an issue as i believe we extended our territorial waters to 200km some time ago.

If it's off hook head, then it is to the south, hence it would still be in Irish waters.
