    Starting the nuclear "debate"

    The communications minister recently proposed this; as global warming seems to have become almost the only ethical issue, worry.
    The socialist party held a "debate" which involved a SIPTU official who had to go at 9.10pm, after a speech stressing our living on nuclear energy in any case.

    Here is a modest contribution from the indo;

    Can someone lock this thread as we already have a couple open on this topic.

    There is no point in rehashing all the arguments again.

    “When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes. Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.” Napoléon Bonaparte

    he's not a cop he's someone who's sick of there being the same topic every month with names like starting the debate and time for a debate and every one of them ending in the conclusion that nuclear is not a viable option for Ireland but then one month later and someone usually starts saying how there's never any debate about nuclear. Now if this really is about siptu could you word the first post better? Was the official giving the speech? The speech was stressing our dependence On nuclear? Was the official really there in his role as a SIPTU official or was he there out of personal interest?
    you haven't given us enough info to debate anything other then the pros and cons of nuclear energy which has been done a good few times already on this forum.

    I've an idea!!!! Lets start another one... only this time lets entitle it "Concluding the Nuclear debate" or "nuclear debate for parrots and broken records"
    Consider it rude, the support of economic sovereignty for which your German masters have no say.
