Rank ignorance. Arrhenius carried out observations on the reflected solar IR from the moon. The fact that Destiny's Soldier does not know that exposes him as a ignorant poser.

Here is Arrhenius' 1896 paper judge for yourself.

Arrhenius’s paper is the first to quantify the contribution of carbon dioxide to the greenhouse effect (Sections I-IV) and to speculate about whether variations in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide have contributed to long-term variations in climate (Section V). Throughout this paper, Arrhenius refers to carbon dioxide as “carbonic acid” in accordance with the convention at the time he was writing

The Greenhouse Effect is BS with no experiment to back it up.
Nor that is absolutely about as low and as stupid as you can get.

Destiny's Soldier thinks the claim is that 239W/m^2 of insolation will instantaneously lead to the atmospheric greenhouse gases to radiate 333W/m^2.

But that is not the claim of scientists!!!! Rank ignorance and stupidity exposed.

The claim is that is what happens after equilibrium has been reached between ground, atmosphere and space.

To use some analogies - does you house heat up instantaneously when you turn on the central heating? Does your body warm up instantaneously when you hop into bed on a cold night?

No, some time elapses before the thermal mass of your cavity insulation, or of your blankets, absorbs enough escaping heat to allow some to be conducted back to warm your house or your body.

If you check the diagram you will note that at the atmosphere, the ground and space, energy input = energy output. Note that 0.9W/m^2 is absorbed to warm up the earth's surface.

At the moment, because CO2 is rising, the earth is not in thermal equilibrium, so the diagram is an idealisation.
