The US Dollar was worth, what would have been, about €1 in 1980. Today it is worth €0.73

So a $100 barrel of oil in 1980 was a €100 (equivalent) barrel in 1980, but a $100 barrel of oil today is a €73 barrel of oil.
In 1980, on either side of the Atlantic, a ticket to see a film was roughly $1 or its equivalent in local currency.

Now it´s ten times that. Ditto with houses and food.

When you see the words "Mises" or "Hayek" in someone's post, just ask yourself: do I really want to ban paper money and go back to gold?

You have to pity the kind of people who buy into conspiracy theories. I find the following to be the saddest words on the internet: "Re: connection between Bilderberg puppet lady gaga and viral outbreak in ukraine "
